Smart Manufacturing Driven by Innovation, Industrial Automation Show 2017 Came to a Successful Close

Organized by Deutsche Messe AG and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS) and Industrial Automation Show (IAS) came to a successful close on November 11, 2017 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As two specialized themed shows under China International Industry Fair, MWCS and IAS 2017 put a spotlight on smart manufacturing, high-end equipment and innovative technologies, which are the key areas of “Made in China 2025”, aiming to explore more industrial development space and interpret the state-of-the-art smart manufacturing results. The two shows respectively attracted over 600 relevant brands within a display area of 70,000 sqm, reaching a new-high record on both exhibitor number and display area. The five-day show attracted over 160,000 trade visits from home and abroad, a nearly 6.67% increase compared with the last edition.

This year, the two shows highlighted various innovative smart manufacturing products, providing a unique platform for global enterprises to expand domestic and international market by showcasing the latest scientific and technological achievements, and thus boosting the development of global manufacturing industry.

As the largest and the most influential industrial automation show in Asia, IAS 2017 gathered a strong lineup of notable enterprises to showcase core technologies of smart manufacturing, presenting an international feast of comprehensive solutions for industrial automation, production and process automation, electrical system, Industrial IT, informationization of manufacturing industry and microsystem. As a UFI approved exhibition, IAS has strictly divided its display sectors into production and process automation, electrical system, industrial automation IT & software, microsystem technology. This year, the show attracted over 600 enterprises from 21 countries and regions including Germany, Japan, South Korea, America, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, Britain, Israel, Singapore, India and China Taiwan. The proportion of overseas exhibitors had taken up over 60%.

Leading industrial enterprises including SIEMENS, PHOENIX CONTACT, MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC, BOSCH, OMRON, DELTA, TURCK, FESTO, SMC, TE, BECKHOFF, NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, B&R, LENZE, ADVANTECH, GOOGOL, INVT, EURA, IEI, SANYO DENKI, RITTAL, ELCO, BALLUFF, WAGO, P+F, IFM, SICK, WEIDMULLER, HARTING, BAUMER, MURR, PILZ, HIWIN, MISUMI, KEYENCE, YOUNGSUN, CHELIC, AIRTAC, MINDMAN, PARKER and NORD made dazzling presence with their best-selling products and cutting-edge technologies.

The world leading electric engineering company, PHOENIX CONTACT showcased PLCnext, PROFICLOUD and PC WORX Engineer, providing onsite visitors with unique experience of smart factory at zero distance. As the global automation expert, TURCK displayed cutting-edge products which were widely applied in many industries including food & drink, public service, oil, gas, automobile manufacturing, energy, metallurgy, cement, chemicals and pharmaceutics. The world-known automation brand Festo presented the Festo Motion Terminal (VTEM) in China for the first time and further marched towards the era of “Industrie 4.0”. At the same time, the show also brought 2,500 user and automation enterprises together to make onsite interaction, truly achieving the "one-stop" purchasing.

Various forums and technical exchange including China Sheet Metal Working Meeting, "China Manufacturing 2025" Summit Meeting, The First Industrial Internet System Solutions Forum and The 16th MES(manufacturing execution system)Development & Application Conference were held concurrently to explore industrial development trend and boost “Made in China 2025”. Organizers and industrial associations also invited professional buyer groups from engineering machinery, agricultural machinery, packaging machinery, stockbreeding machine, automobile panel, cabinet, marine engineering, rail transport, pipe air conditioning, elevator equipment, electronic product and other fields to visit the show. The next edition will be held from September 19-23, 2018 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
