The leading international industry events in the Asia-Pacific region -- Metalworking & CNC Machine Tools Show 2020 (MWCS 2020) and Industrial Automation Show 2020 (IAS 2020) kick off today at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Pandemic-induced negative impact on various industries has not dampened enterprises’ intense yearning to exhibit products on platforms. These two shows have attracted more than 400 and 600 exhibitors respectively, with a total exhibition area of 116,000 sqm.
MWCS 2020 and IAS 2020 are core exhibitions of the 22nd China International Industry Fair (CIIF 2020). As the first national industrial exhibition held after COVID-19, CIIF 2020 has delineated 9 themed shows including MWCS and IAS, with an area of 245,000 sqm and over 2,000 exhibitors. More than 180,000 professional visitors are expected to make their presence.
Mr. Chen Mingbo, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee for CIIF and Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal Government, signified that against the special background of disease prevention and control, the successful inauguration of CIIF 2020 would prove to the world that Shanghai has registered remarkable accomplishments in balancing disease prevention, and economic and social development, which is quite significant to further boosting confidence in industrial economy, strengthening industrial competitiveness and contributing to the global economic recovery.
According to data from National Bureau of Statistics of China, Chinese PMI in July was 51.1%, an increase of 0.2% comparing to the previous month. For 5 consecutive months, it has stayed above the threshold. Gary Liu, Managing Director of Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, expressed that Chinese PMI has emitted positive signals, beckoning a continued recovery in manufacturing vitality. Regarded as highly influential international industrial platforms, MWCS and IAS would play a positive role in accelerating digital transformation of industrial economy in the post-pandemic era, and supporting evolution in industrial models and business forms, therefore opening up important opportunities for global industrial development.
As one of the largest international exhibitions on metal processing in the Asia-Pacific region, MWCS exhibits from the entire industrial chain of metal processing and has established a centralized platform for new product release in Asia. This year, it takes 3H, 4.1H and half of 2.1H in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), with an area of 60,000 sqm. More than 400 domestic and foreign top companies including Trumpf, Bystronic, Prima Power, Salvagnini, Mitsubishi, Murata, Han’s Laser, Yawei, HG Tech, Smart Prima, Lead Laser, Accurpress, DNE, HSG, Deratech, Hymson, Penta Laser, Jinaolan, Chonglee, ACL, Jinqiang, IPG, Precitec, Raycus, Max, Lissmac, Wila, Stoeber, Henga, Siegmund, Atlanta, Chenlong and Chuangheng showcase their products for cutting, forming, automation, welding, surface treatment and assembly. Among these exhibitors, TRUMPF, Bystronic, Mitsubishi and IPG unveiled their first laser processing equipment in China and Accurpress debuted its pure electric bending machine globally. This year, Han's Group, together with all business units within the group, makes a grand appearance with a booth area of over 1,300 sqm, becoming the largest stand exhibitor in MWCS 2020. The latest technologies and one-stop solutions presented by high-quality exhibitors help address issues related to IoT, automation, flexibility and digital transformation in metal plate processing.
HAIZOL X 22nd MWCS - Industrial Parts Sourcing Forum - Shanghai Main Venue, and Industrial Parts Sourcing Forum - Shanghai VIP room + Matchmaking, are held during MWCS 2020. Purchasing managers from well-known companies and manufacturing experts are invited to share observations on relevant topics so as to transport the latest to participating suppliers while engaging in precise and highly-efficient procurement matchmaking. During the MWCS, Application and Development Forum of High Speed Metal Cutting 2020 will be organized to delve into the latest trend and share the most advanced technologies. Off-line conferences during MWCS 2020 will be accompanied by on-line events such as 2020 BAIDU Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Innovation Forum. Force of Intelligence - Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Forum is jointly launched by AI-leading Baidu and MWCS where hot topics such as AI empowering the innovation of Big Manufacturing and the transformation from conventional to smart manufacturing are discussed against the background of developing new infrastructure.
A new round of industrial upgrading and intelligent transformation is in its heyday. As a “wind indicator” for the development of advanced manufacturing in Asia, IAS has closely traced and tracked the trend of industrial development and fully demonstrated internationally advanced manufacturing technologies. IAS 2020 is held in 5.1H and 6.1H of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), covering an exhibition area of 56,000 sqm and focusing on industrial automation (automation in production and process), micro-system technology, electrical systems, IT in industrial automation and software.
IAS 2020 has gathered together more than 600 leading companies including SIEMENS, PHOENIX, BECKHOFF, MITSUBISHI, OMRON, Schneider, Festo, IFM, SMC, DELTA, AUTONICS, Rittal, Balluff, Weidmüller, WAGO, ELCO, Pepperl+Fuchs, Item, CODESYS, Pilz, Leadshine, MOONS’, Schmalz, SCHMERSAL, KENGIC，LYRIC, DINKLE, Murrelectktronik, Baumer, ForceCon, Elmo, Rollon, HIWIN, KEYENCE, WAIN and Hongfa, among which Beckhoff, Elmo, Wago and Pepperl+Fuchs all debuted new products.
